Mohan Thomas Very compelling. Mathieu Desy is an incredibly talented compositional voice who I hope will be heard by many. I don't usually single out a particular track, but: In my opinion, there are not many interpretations of Portrait of Tracy that carry the same tenderness and gravity as the original, but the one on this album makes the cut. It's all great

about

Glow In The Dark highlights the compositions and solo arrangements of Mathieu Désy for polyphonic double bass. Available in audio and video these pieces entertain a sober but audacious consonance while Désy pushes back the limitations of the traditional double bass offering polyphonic music dedicated to his instrument.
Following his debut trio-inspired jazz album titled “Contrebasse & Marées”, “Glow In The Dark” is closer to modern classical music and neo-classicism; the idea being to compose short instrumental songs that present the double bass in harmony and contrast.
